NOVO Rehabilitation is a faith-based therapy company focused on geriatric care. The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide quality therapy, assess communication issues, and coordinate with families and staff to optimize residents’ quality of life.

Requirements include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, a passing Praxis score, an active OK SLP license, and the ability to document efficiently to meet Medicare guidelines. A driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Passing Praxis Exam in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Active state license as Speech-Language Pathologist (OK).
  • Proficiency with Medicare/regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality speech therapy services to geriatric residents.
  • Evaluate and collect data to guide treatment plans.
  • Modify diet textures to ensure safe, least restrictive diets.
  • Educate patients, families and staff on speech-language procedures.
  • Complete daily notes, progress notes, recertifications and discharges.

Our supreme example of a Shepherd is "The Good Shepherd", Jesus Christ.**Responsibilities:**The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for recognizing and addressing deficits associated with diagnoses in the geriatric population, which may be related to swallowing, cognition, receptive/expressive communication, motor speech, voice, and/or fluency in order to ensure the best quality of life while safely respecting the wishes of the resident and their loved ones.* Provides quality speech therapy services and recognizes referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, company procedures, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards* Evaluates and obtains data necessary to ensure treatment implementation that reflects the safety and overall well-being of the individual* Recognizes the need for and modification of (if necessary) diet/liquid textures to ensure the safest, least restrictive diet of the residents* Educates/coordinates with the patient, family, outside contractors, and/or staff as needed regarding appropriate speech-language procedures to allow carryover of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities* Completes required daily treatment notes, progress notes, recertifications, and discharges to justify skilled necessity and to ensure best quality of care per Medicare guidelines**Requirements:*** Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited SLP master’s program* Must have a passing score on the national examination for the Praxis Exam in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (will consider CFY at the discretion of the company)* Current, active licensure in the state of OK as a Speech-Language Pathologist* Uphold state required CEU’s in order to maintain good standing with the board* Must be able to complete documentation efficiently to meet reimbursement and regulatory requirements* Therapeutic experience in older adults across multiple diagnostic groups is preferred* Valid driver’s license, and an automobile in good working condition with appropriate insurance coverage in accordance with state laws* Respectful, open communication with other team members, clients, and families
