Job summary

Exalt Health Inpatient Rehab Hospital Wildwood in Florida is seeking a Speech Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. You will evaluate speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapy sessions to help patients regain communication and swallowing skills.

You will educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning, document progress in EMR, and stay current with best practices in rehabilitation medicine.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • 2 years inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Current, unencumbered state license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations to identify patients' needs and develop functional treatment goals.
  • Design and implement individualized therapy programs utilizing evidence-based practices.

Position Summary

As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in our interdisciplinary team, helping patients recover from a variety of medical conditions that impact communication, swallowing, and cognitive function. You will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapy sessions to improve patients' abilities. You will also educate patients and their families on self-management techniques to ensure continued progress after discharge.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Licenses or Certifications

  • Current, unencumbered license to practice professional Speech Therapy in the state where currently practicing.
  • Current BLS required via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university program (required).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • 2 years of Inpatient Rehabilitation experience (preferred).
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Proficient in documentation and medical record keeping.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine.
