Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to conduct comprehensive evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, and language, and to oversee plans of care and education for patients.

The role requires Tennessee SLP licensure, Master’s degree, BLS certification within 30 days, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
  • Current SLP license in state of Tennessee required.
  • AHA BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, staff, physicians, community required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete videofluoroscopic swallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians.
  • Treat patients in accordance with Speech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice.
  • Perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately and communicate results timely to all appropriate members of the healthcare team.
  • Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for performing comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive‑communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and/or language, as ordered by physicians. This role is responsible for all aspects of patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatments, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.
