Job summary

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide in-home therapy for children in the San Antonio, Texas area. This role involves evaluating, planning, and delivering pediatric home health services under physician prescription and collaborating with families and healthcare teams.

The ideal candidate will hold Texas licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, have 1+ year of experience preferred, and familiarity with Kantime and EVV.

Qualifications

• Texas licensure as a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist
• One year of work experience preferred
• Pediatric and home health experience preferred (not required)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Familiarity with Kantime and EVV

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and complete evaluation reports in timely manner
• Plan activities and provide occupational therapy services
• Record type of treatment and patient’s reaction to it on clinical/progress notes and incorporated in the patient’s record weekly
• Maintain adequate records on all patient’s, including summary reports
• Utilize community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral
• Attend case conferences as requested
• Participate in staff development activities and in-service education as requested
• Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Therapy Coordinator to coordinate necessary visits with other personnel
• Participate with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities

Job Summary:

The therapist is a qualified professional person who directs, supervises, evaluates and provides therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
