Job summary

Lake Placid Health & Rehab in Florida is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist to support residents recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. Join an interdisciplinary team in a state-of-the-art facility and help residents regain communication and swallowing skills while maintaining independence.

You will develop individualized therapy plans, conduct sessions, document progress, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and OT staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
• Florida licensure or ability to obtain license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized speech therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each resident, including assessing and evaluating communication and swallowing disorders.
• Conduct speech therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of techniques and strategies to improve communication skills, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and communication.
• Provide education and support to residents, families, and caregivers on speech therapy techniques, communication strategies, and techniques for swallowing disorders.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, progress, and treatment plans.
