Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat residents' communication, cognition, and swallowing needs in a supportive, team-based setting. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program, is licensed or eligible to practice in Florida, and has CCC from ASHA or is pursuing it.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in skilled nursing or rehab is preferred.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
Licensed or eligible to practice in Florida.
CCC from ASHA or currently in certification process.
Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, especially in skilled nursing or rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, dysphagia, and related areas.
Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
Partner with the interdisciplinary team to develop therapy plans based on each resident’s individual needs.
Maintain thorough documentation, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate outcomes with the care team.
Supervise support personnel and provide training to facility staff on speech therapy practices.
Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy equipment and identify equipment needs or repairs.
Provide compassionate guidance and clear communication to residents and their families.
