Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Speech Therapist in Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX, to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in acute and medically complex settings.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing evidence-based therapy across ICU and rehab, and educating patients and families on swallowing safety and AAC strategies. Requires CCC-SLP or CF supervision, hospital experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Active state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the anticipated employment state with no disciplinary action.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or SLP-CFs considered with supervision.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current BLS for healthcare providers certification.

  • Treat patients across ICU and Inpatient Rehab addressing feeding, swallowing, congenital, critical-care and other communication needs.
  • Enhance quality of life and safety by supporting safe oral intake, restoring communication, and promoting cognitive-linguistic recovery.

Location:Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX

We are seeking aSpeech Therapist. As our SpeechTherapist, youare responsible forevaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Conduct communication assessments and provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in acute and medically complex settings
  • Provide cognitive-communication therapy targeting attention, memory, executive function, and problem-solving in patients with neurological conditions
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing, communication strategies, andappropriate useof Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to support functional outcomes
  • Treat patients across ICU and Inpatient Rehab addressing feeding, swallowing, congenital, criticalcareand other communication needs
  • Enhance quality of life and safety by supporting safe oral intake, restoring communication, and promoting cognitive-linguistic recovery
Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
  • Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
