Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Acute Rehab department. This per diem role covers weekend shifts, evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders, under physician prescriptions.

The position requires a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, an active state license, CCC-SLP or CF status, at least one year hospital experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
• Current state license to practice speech-language pathology.
• CCC-SLP certification by ASHA or SLP-CF considered with supervision.
• Minimum one year of hospital experience.
• BLS for healthcare providers required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement therapy and monitor patient progress within the Acute Rehab unit.
• Assist in developing and implementing new programs for department improvement.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
• Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
• Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.

Pay Transparency

Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation, and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is a flat rate of $46.16. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
