Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, GA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for PRN day shifts to join our rehabilitation services.

You will evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan, coordinate consultations, interpret assessments, and plan intervention programs to restore communication and swallowing function.

The role includes supervising rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers, with opportunities for orientation and guidance of assigned staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders is required.
• CCC–ASHA certification is required.
• Georgia licensure in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• BCLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates consultations and diagnostic evaluations for patients with communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia.
• Interprets assessment data and plans speech-language pathology treatment interventions.
• Provides services to all age groups (neonate to geriatric) and plans interventions to restore function.
• Supervises rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers; may orient and guide assigned staff.

Overview:

Piedmont Rockdale is a 161-bed, acute care, not-for-profit community hospital in Conyers that has provided compassionate, patient-centered care to Rockdale County and surrounding communities since 1954. We offer 24-hour emergency care, plus most major medical, surgical and diagnostic services.

Responsibilities:

Provides speech-language pathology services by coordinating consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Responsible for the supervision of rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers. May be responsible for orientation and ongoing guidance of assigned staff.

Qualifications:

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school Required

Licenses and Certifications

• CCC - Clinical Speech Pathologist from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Required
• Licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Speech/Language Pathology Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support through AHA or ARC Required
