The role includes supervising Rehab Techs, students and volunteers, participating in performance improvement, scheduling and coordinating patient care, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology is required.
• Licensed as a Speech Pathologist by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
• ASHA Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine speech, language, cognitive and swallowing status.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Maintains quality documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participates in patient care conferences and family conferences.
• Counsels family regarding evaluation, care and treatment; completes discharge planning.
• Supervises Speech Pathology students and volunteers and assists with Rehab Tech supervision.
• Participates in orientation and scheduling to ensure quality patient coverage.
• Supports Performance Improvement activities and adheres to productivity standards.
• Identifies community resources and educational opportunities; contributes to research as appropriate.
