Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, ME is hiring a Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our hospital-based therapy team. You will work with patients across the continuum of care, including outpatient pediatric and adult care, and inpatient hospital and acute rehabilitation units.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, New York State license, BLS within 3 months, and CFY eligibility per ASHA with registration within one year.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved program.
  • New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • Eligible to begin a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) per ASHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services in outpatient pediatric care to develop communication, language, speech, and feeding skills.
  • Support outpatient adult care for communication, cognition, voice, and swallowing.
  • Assist in inpatient hospital and acute rehabilitation unit settings to restore communication and swallowing abilities.

Masters degree in Speech Pathology from an approved school of Speech Language Pathology.

  • New York State license and registration in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Eligible to begin a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) as specified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Registration must be obtained within one year or as per state law.
