Job summary

Holyoke Public Schools is seeking a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to provide direct therapy to students and support the Speech & Language Pathologist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and Licensure from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Experience with social/pragmatics preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy to students through small group or inclusion interventions.
• Provide consultation to general and special education staff.
• Assist Speech and Language Pathologist with evaluations as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings and assist with progress monitoring.
• Meet district, state and federal requirements including IEP deadlines.
• Create a positive educational environment using a multi-tiered system of supports.
• Use professional communication to convey information to the student’s team.
• Stay current with instructional theory and best practices for diverse learners.
