Job summary

Springfield Public Schools in Western Massachusetts seeks a Speech-Language Assistant to deliver speech-language services to students with IEPs under the direction of a speech-language pathologist. You will work with the school team to implement evidence-based interventions and support students in achieving their IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology.
• State License as a speech-language assistant through the Commonwealth of MA.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction and supervision of a speech-language pathologist, provide speech-language services to students with IEPs.
• Collaborate with the SLP supervisor on evidence-based interventions to help students achieve their speech-language goals and objectives on their IEPs.
• Collaborate with the SLP supervisor regarding information on students’ IEPs.
• Provide screening to identify students with suspected speech-language disabilities.
• Keep progress and tracking data using qualitative and quantitative information for individual students receiving speech-language services.
• Maintain list of students’ names on the speech-language caseload and those screened and eligible for speech-language IEPs.
• Track and inventory speech-language intervention materials in the schools.
• Log therapy services using Easy IEP.
• Provide progress reports in collaboration with the SLP.
