Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Speech Pathology Coordinator to provide professional speech and language therapy to assigned patients within a multidisciplinary team. You will supervise support personnel, develop treatment plans, and ensure quality patient care in accordance with standards.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team, maintain documentation, and promote a safe, therapeutic environment. A Texas license as an SLP and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate program in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Valid Texas License or Temporary License required
• 2 years Licensed SLP; 4 years preferred
• High level of energy and motivation
• Must be able to operate with minimal supervision following probation period.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Assumes responsibility for the speech and language therapy components of the patient/family/significant other educational process.
• Communicates with the healthcare team and co-workers with self assessment of communication effectiveness and manner.
• Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written documentation and communication of patient information.
• Utilizes the speech and language therapy process to ensure quality patient care is provided throughout the episode of care.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
