Job summary

Del Mar Union School District is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students with speech and language disorders. The itinerant position serves multiple school sites and works under supervision of a Language, Speech, and Program Specialist.

Required are an Associate of arts degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders and current SLPA registration with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board; prior educational or clinical SLPA

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of a SLPA program is required.
• Current registration as an SLPA with the California board is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in activities to develop pre-language and language skills.
• Support oral-motor control for speech production and vocalization.
• Utilize assistive technology devices for communication with students.

Education / Experience Required

Associate of arts degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders, or graduation from a speech-language pathology assistant program; current registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board; prior SLPA experience in educational or clinical settings is preferred.
