Job summary

Central Berkshire Regional School District in Dalton, MA is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP/A) to provide services to Pre-K–12 students under the supervision of a licensed SLP. This is a full-time school-year position with a competitive hourly rate.

Ideal candidates will have completed a SLP assistant program, hold a Bachelor's degree, be licensed by the MA Board, and have school-based experience.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a school speech language pathology assistant program or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Experience in school based practice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech language services to students Pre-K through grade 12 who have speech and language related disabilities.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills with students, parents, staff and administration.
  • Provide speech and language development services as per the IEP.
  • Consult and/or co-teach with classroom teachers and recommend communication systems/approaches, which will maximize student growth.
  • Attend IEP meetings as required.
  • Provide narrative progress reports on all pupils on caseload.
  • Prepares materials and activities for therapy sessions.
  • Function as part of a team to help our student develop skills for success in everyday life around effective communication.
  • Keeps data for program planning and decision making for students.
  • Safeguards confidentiality of student records.
  • Adheres to established rules, regulations, laws and appropriate ethical standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state and local rules, regulations and laws.
  • Complies with established lines of authority within the parameters of professional standards.
  • Perform other duties relating to program as required.
  • Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in implementing accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such supports.

REPORTS TO: Principal/Director of Student Services

SALARY : $32.26 per hour - $37.61 per hour
