Job summary

Candor is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to empower students and schools. You’ll work closely with the Speech-Language Pathologist to support the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders, under supervision.

Responsibilities include implementing therapy plans, assisting with AAC devices, data collection for IEP goals, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for students’ communication needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
• Valid licensure as an Assistant in Speech-Language Pathology by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
• Current CPR certification.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation and intervention: collaborate with the supervising SLP to support assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
• Implement therapy plans: execute therapy activities and intervention plans designed by the SLP to meet students’ individualized needs.
• Monitor communication tools: assist in the setup, use, and maintenance of AAC devices for students.
• Data collection and reporting: record and document student progress, observations, and outcomes to support data-driven interventions and IEP goals.
• Collaborative support: participate in multidisciplinary meetings, such as IEP discussions, to advocate for students’ communication needs.
