Advocates' The Darnell School is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant to create and monitor communication programs for students, aligned with IEP goals, and to collaborate with head teachers and classroom staff to implement objectives. The SLPA will participate in assessments, contribute to IEP and three-year reviews, and support staff with AAC devices and trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field.
• Experience with AAC devices; ASL a plus.
• Massachusetts SLPA license required.

Responsibilities

• Weekly meeting with Speech and Language Pathologist.
• Collaborate with Head Teachers, Behavior Specialist, and others.
• Work directly with students with high communication needs across four classrooms.
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Write procedure sheets for students' communication programs.
• Set up/edit student AAC devices (e.g., Proloquo, TouchChat, Gotalknow, PECs).
• Create and deliver trainings to staff around communication.
