Job summary

Quincy Public Schools is seeking a licensed speech-language pathology assistant to support the speech-language pathologists in providing services to special education students in an Elementary setting.

You will work under the supervision of the SLP, delivering direct instructional services to students in small groups or one-on-one, and you will prepare instructional materials and visual supports for therapy sessions.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts SLP Assistant license required.
• Elementary/school setting experience preferred.

Job Description

Quincy Public Schools is seeking a licensed speech-language pathology assistant to support the speech-language pathologists in providing services to special education students with communication disorders in a Elementray setting.

Responsibilities Include

• Provides direct instructional services to students in individual or small group settings under the supervision of the SLP and in alignment with the students' communication goals as outlined in their IEPs.
• Prepares materials necessary for speech and language lessons, including activity materials, visual schedules, picture icons, topic boards.
• Performs informal record keeping and basic clerical duties to support the supervising SLP.
• Assists the SLP in scheduling therapy sessions
• Maintains files/records of required documentation

Reports To

• Building principal and special education team administrator
• Director of Special Education & Special Education Coordinator

Qualifications

• Speech Language Pathology Assistant License through the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Division of Professional Licensure, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
