Job summary

Northbridge Public Schools is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant for the new Northbridge Elementary School in Whitinsville, MA. The assistant will work with the school speech therapist to provide direct instruction aligned to student goals and will collect data to report progress.

The role includes group or individual instruction, data recording, and collaboration with staff to implement district goals and policies. Immediate starting date; salary $28–$36 per hour.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts license for Speech Language Pathology Assistant required.
• Bachelor's/Associate’s degree in Speech pathology from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Speech Therapist in screening referrals from Principals, Teachers, and Special Education personnel.
• Work with the SLP on scheduling students with speech and language deficits.
• Assist the Speech Therapist in the evaluation and enrollment of students with speech problems in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as participate in evaluation meetings, if required.
• Keep thorough records on all speech and language students to whom the Assistant provides services
• Assist the Speech Therapist in assessing student progress and preparing written reports as required
• If necessary, participate in Preschool and Kindergarten Screening with Speech Therapists
• Assist the administration in implementing District goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the District
• Attend staff or team meetings as required
• Provide direct instruction on student’s goals.
• Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the building principal, supervisor of special education or designee.

Job Description

Job Requirements
