Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for The Jewish Hospital to diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across all ages. You will conduct thorough evaluations, design treatment plans, and apply diverse therapy techniques with a patient-centered approach.

Essential duties include comprehensive patient assessments, developing discharge plans, and educating families.

Qualifications

• Licensed SLP in current practice state.
• CCC-SLP required within one year of hire (preferred at hire).
• Basic life support (BLS) preferred on hire or within 30 days depending on facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals, patient conditions and medical histories to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct evaluations and develop treatment and discharge plans.
• Administer and tailor speech therapy treatments to patient needs.
• Design programs for verbal/written language, swallowing, cognition and memory.
• Educate families and caregivers for home continuation of therapy.
• Collaborate with health care team and participate in patient care conferences.
