Job summary

Miami Jewish Health in Miami, FL is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to assess and treat swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders in geriatric patients.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, families, and the IDT, with emphasis on evidence-based plans, discharge planning, and education for caregivers. Florida licensure and CCC-SLP preferred; bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited school.
• One year experience in speech language pathology and experience working with the geriatric population preferred.
• Florida Licensed Speech Language Pathologist; Current BLS certification; CCC-SLP preferred

Responsibilities

• Completes a comprehensive evaluation and plan of care
• Develops an appropriate and comprehensive treatment plan for skilled therapy services that aligns with identified deficits and goals
• Reviews patient’s status at regular intervals and updates the treatment plan as needed
• Establishes a cooperative working relationship with the IDT, rehab team, and medical staff
• Supervises and trains support personnel
• Monitors documentation for accuracy and timing (GG coding, progress notes, daily notes, charge capture)
• Participates in in-service education to facilities, staff, students, and the community
• Demonstrates willingness to work across clinical service lines including inpatient, outpatient, and PACE as needed
