Qualifications

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide instruction and leadership to assigned speech-language pathologists (SLP) and licensed speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs).
  • Provide guidance in district expectation and processes to assess student progress on speech Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including training and technical support.
  • Develop and coordinate an ongoing evaluation of the district speech program and recommend changes based on findings.
  • Assist with determining SLP and SLPA caseload assignments.
  • Present individual and group staff development training on assigned topics to assist in the identifying and understanding of students with special needs.
  • Support and assist assigned staff to ensure appropriate and timely completion of assessment and Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee paperwork.
  • Assist with supervising, training, and evaluating assigned SLPs and SLPAs.
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and distribution of materials and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain open communication and a professional relationship with SLPs, SLPAs, and support team members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
