Job summary

Adept Nursing & Rehab of Waverly is seeking a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary team in a skilled nursing facility. In this role, you will help residents regain communication, swallowing, and cognitive abilities while improving their quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required.
  • CCC-SLP certification is preferred or Clinical Fellow welcome to apply.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation, or geriatric setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in residents.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
  • Provide therapy to residents recovering from stroke, neurological conditions, surgery, or illness.
  • Assess and manage dysphagia and recommend appropriate dietary modifications.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques and treatment plans.
  • Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to patient-centered outcomes.
