Job summary

Driftwood Healthcare Center-Santa Cruz is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate residents, develop comprehensive plans of care, and provide direct treatment in a compassionate skilled nursing environment.

Requirements include a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and California licensure; certification in Clinical Competency is preferred. A sign-on bonus is available to eligible candidates, with full-time or part-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• MS in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• California state licensure required or in process.
• Certification in Clinical Competency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen residents and evaluate them and develop appropriate plan of care.
• Provide direct resident treatment according to the established plan of care.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Support residents with functional swallow techniques.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and complete required forms.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Provides direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Works with residents for functional swallow techniques.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Entry Qualifications and Skills:

• Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Certification in Clinical Competency.
• Current license to practice Speech-Language Pathology issued by the state of California.
