Job summary

Harborview-At-Doylestown is seeking a compassionate PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to support short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents in a skilled nursing environment. You will assess, plan, and deliver therapy for communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.

The role requires an active PA SLP license, a Master's degree, and CPR certification, with opportunities to collaborate with nursing and therapy teams to optimize resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents experiencing speech, language, cognitive-communication, or swallowing difficulties.
• Create personalized treatment plans based on each resident's clinical needs and goals.
• Deliver therapy for dysphagia, communication disorders, and cognitive impairments.
• Conduct clinical swallowing assessments and participate in instrumental evaluations when appropriate.
• Track resident outcomes and modify treatment approaches based on progress.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure services and records comply with applicable state, federal, and facility requirements.
• Teach residents, families, and caregivers appropriate communication methods and safe swallowing practices.
• Coordinate care with nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietary services, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Participate in care planning and discharge recommendations as needed.

PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Overview

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide PRN services in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. In this role, you will help short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents strengthen their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities while supporting their safety, independence, and quality of life.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assess residents experiencing speech, language, cognitive-communication, or swallowing difficulties

• Create personalized treatment plans based on each resident's clinical needs and goals

• Deliver therapy for dysphagia, communication disorders, and cognitive impairments

• Conduct clinical swallowing assessments and participate in instrumental evaluations when appropriate

• Track resident outcomes and modify treatment approaches based on progress

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care environment

• Experience evaluating and treating dysphagia

• Familiarity with texture-modified diets and swallowing-safety protocols

• Understanding of Medicare Part A and Part B, PDPM, and skilled nursing documentation standards

Schedule

• PRN/per diem position

• Flexible hours based on facility needs

• Weekday and/or weekend coverage may be available

Work Environment

This position serves a combination of short-term rehabilitation patients and long-term care residents in a skilled nursing environment. The role requires regular standing and walking, along with the ability to assist residents when appropriate.
