Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation, part of Lifepoint Health, invites a Speech Language Pathologist to join Kindred Hospital Dallas Central on a full-time days schedule. You will evaluate and treat swallowing and communication disorders to improve patient outcomes.

This role requires a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology, TX licensure, and BLS certification. You will educate families, develop plans of care, supervise clinical fellows, and support discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • TX licensure required: Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
  • Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
  • Design and implement a plan of care involving patient and family.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment plans and progress.
  • Plan and assist with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

How you’ll contribute

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) who excels in this role will:

  • Evaluate and treat patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.

  • Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

  • Design and implement a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.

  • Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.

  • Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.

  • Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

What we’re looking for:

Applicants must hold aMaster's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Additional requirements include:

  • Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with TX Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
