  • Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing and speech-language needs.
  • Documents assessments of patient's condition.
  • Designs and implements patient care plans.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment.
  • Assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises clinical fellows and students.

Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest's Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is a 12 bed specialized inpatient rehab unit designed to help patients recover from serious medical conditions and injuries.

How you'll contribute:
  • Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
Qualifications and requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Required
  • Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
