Job summary

Mission Hospital, part of Lifepoint Rehabilitation, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team on a PRN basis at the Mission Hospital campus. You will evaluate and treat patients with swallowing and speech-language needs while collaborating with families and other clinical staff.

Applicants must hold a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Texas licensure, and BLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• TX State licensure in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
• Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Design and implement a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

• What we're looking for:

  Applicants must hold a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Additional requirements include:

  • Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with TX Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
