Job summary

Mission Valley Post Acute in California is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time role. You will evaluate, develop, and implement treatment plans to help residents regain communication, swallowing, and cognition, working as part of a collaborative rehabilitation team.

You’ll supervise CFY and student clinicians where allowed, educate residents and families, and participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and staff education.

Qualifications

  • Current California Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
  • Experience supervising CFY or student clinicians is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive speech-language and swallowing evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for communication, cognition, voice, and dysphagia.
  • Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans to maximize outcomes.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on goals, home programs, and swallowing safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, dietitians, and the care team to coordinate care.
  • Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with standards.
  • Provide staff education and in-service training as needed.
  • Supervise CFY and student clinicians where allowed by state regulations.
