Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in coordination with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

You will develop treatment plans, monitor progress, discharge planning, document thoroughly, and participate in quality improvement. Licensure in IL and BLS required. A $5,000 sign-on is offered with this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• Speech-Language Pathology licensure as required by state.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 90 days, per policy.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and conducts speech and language evaluations.
• Develops and implements written plans of care; monitors and adjusts treatment as needed.
• Plans for discharge including home programs and caregiver education; coordinates referrals.
• Documents per policy: evaluations, progress notes, discharges, and billing; maintains productivity and timelines.
• Assists with infection control and safety; cleans up after treatments and ensures equipment safety.
• Participates in performance improvement and staff education; supports student training and supervision.
• May supervise non-licensed personnel and oversee one student per year when available.
