Job summary

Pinellas County Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute or prolonged speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.

The role focuses on developing treatment strategies, delivering or delegating services, and collaborating with the rehab team to optimize patient outcomes in our new Florida facility. A BLS certification is required; inpatient rehab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat acute or prolonged speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement treatment strategies and plans.
• Collaborate with rehab team to optimize patient outcomes.

Introduction:

Pinellas County Rehabilitation Hospital opened May 2026! Join our team to work in a beautiful new hospital with 36 private patient rooms and 2 rehab therapy gyms with cutting-edge technology.

Position Summary:

Independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.

Pay: Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.

Desired Qualifications:

• Inpatient rehabilitation experience

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
