Job summary

The Pines at Placerville in Placerville, CA is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a per diem, flexible schedule. You will evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing needs and create individualized treatment plans.

Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, families, and the interdisciplinary team, you will provide education on aspiration prevention and communication strategies while maintaining compliant documentation. New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Current California Speech Language Pathologist License.
• New grads encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate preferred.
• CPR Certification if required by licensure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Familiarity with Net Health and Point Click Care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Work closely with physicians, nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate residents and caregivers on aspiration prevention, communication strategies, and maintenance programs.
• Participate in care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, and utilization reviews.
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation.
• Supervise CFY and students as applicable.
• Assist with staff education and restorative nursing training.
• Help residents maximize independence, safety, and quality of life.

What You'll Do
