Job summary

Sierra Valley Rehab Center in Porterville, CA is seeking a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support skilled nursing care. You will evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities and develop individualized treatment plans.

The position offers a flexible part-time schedule with an hourly wage starting at $65, opportunities for caregiver training, thorough documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff to enhance residents' communication

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current California SLP license.
• CCC-SLP certificate is preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute setting strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients for speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the care team.
• Provide direct therapy and caregiver/staff training as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation including daily notes and discharge summaries.
• Participate in care planning meetings with nursing and therapy staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and facility standards.
