Job summary

Murray-Calloway County Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to diagnose, treat, and support patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders in an outpatient/rehabilitation setting.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and a current state SLP license; ASHA CCC is preferred. Experience in pediatric and adult rehab is valued, with opportunities for family counseling and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.
• At least one year of rehabilitation experience with pediatric and/or adult speech-language-impaired populations preferred.
• Current Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in the state.
• ASHA CCC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for speech, language, swallowing, and related disorders.
• Counsel patients and families and refer as appropriate; maintain systematic records per professional and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and address communication barriers.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement, safety and in-service programs.

Job description

To provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family counseling, and appropriate referrals as necessary to pediatric and adult outpatients exhibiting a speech, language, hearing, or swallowing disorder. Maintain systematic records in accordance with professional, Medicare, JC, and IRF guidelines. Maintain quality care for all patients through interaction with hospital personnel in a coordinated, comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach, and provide assistance where communication barriers exist due to speech/language disabilities to enable each individual to reach his or her maximum level of independence. Support and actively participate in hospital performance improvement, safety and in-service programs.

Minimum Education
Master's degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.

Minimum Work Experience
At least one year of experience in rehabilitation with pediatric and adult speech/language-impaired populations is preferred.

Required Licenses
Current Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in the state.

ASHA certified of clinical competency.
