Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, assess, and treat a wide range of patients across acute, subacute, rehabilitation and outpatient settings. You will work within ASHA and state guidelines to deliver goal-directed care and documentation for pediatric through geriatric populations.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech Pathology, CA licensure, ASHA CCC, and BCLS certification, with 1–2 years hospital or rehab experience preferred;

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology is required.
• State of California Board of Examination licensure for Audiology and Speech Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• One to two years’ hospital or rehab experience preferred. Entry-level graduates will be considered.
• BCLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients according to facility rules and ASHA/State guidelines.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to provide appropriate care.
• Provide goal-directed treatment planning and documentation for pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Treat patients with suspected speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Speech Language Pathologists are responsible for the evaluation, assessment, and treatment of a wide variety of patients, including, but not limited to patients with: neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and other medical conditions in the areas of acute, subacute, rehabilitation and outpatient speech/language pathology. • You will be evaluating and treating patients in accordance with the rules and regulations of the facility, the American Speech/language Hearing Association (ASHA), and the State of California

• You will be demonstrating knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span, assess, and interpret data reflective of the patient’s medical status and age specific needs, in order to provide the appropriate care, as described in the department’s policies and procedures

• You will be providing goal directed treatment program planning, implementation and modification, as well as related documentation and communication for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations

• You will be responsible for treating patients with suspected speech, language, cognitive, communicative, and swallowing impairments
