Job summary

Interim HealthCare in New Jersey seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders. The role includes assessment, plan development, and interdisciplinary collaboration with caregivers to maximize patient outcomes.

The clinician will work within a patient plan of care, adhering to professional standards, policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting discharge planning and family education.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology.
  • Licensed as a speech-language pathologist in the state or meet alternate licensure requirements.
  • Two years of relevant experience in the last five years.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance if driving to assignments.
  • Pass health screenings and background checks.
  • I-9 employment eligibility verification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician or other licensed practitioner in evaluating the patient’s communication deficits and planning care.
  • Perform initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments at appropriate time points.
  • Teach language and swallowing interventions across modalities; speech and voice production; auditory training; communication strategies.
  • Re-evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment per physician orders.
  • Document treatment progress and reports in compliance with standards.
  • Educate patients and families to support progress and discharge planning.
  • Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
