Job description

• Evaluate patients from newborn to geriatric age with acquired or congenital impairments in cognition, communication, speech, language, voice, fluency, or swallowing
• Plan and implement individualized Speech-Language Pathology treatment programs
• Conduct video swallow evaluations in Radiology with a Radiologist and Radiology staff
• Make recommendations for referrals, Audiology services, adaptive equipment, and assistive equipment
• Educate patients, families, nursing personnel, and professional staff on treatment objectives and home management
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Manage patient schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce cancellations
• Prepare evaluation, progress, discharge, and outpatient chart documentation
• Complete audit, volume, charging, billing, and cancellation reports
• Supervise and direct Rehabilitation Aides and Student Speech-Language Pathologists
• Assist with inservice training, continuing education, and Performance Improvement activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited SLP Education Program
• Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) upon hire through the applicable state department
• CPR/AED/BLS certification; BLS required within 14 days
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
• Previous healthcare experience preferred
