Job summary

Community Unit School District 308 in Illinois is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to support students with special education needs in language, speech, voice, fluency, and feeding/swallowing within the school setting.

You will assess and treat communication disorders, write and implement IEPs, collaborate with staff and families, and educate others about the SLP role while maintaining progress data and adhering to district policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL with endorsement in Speech Language Pathology.
• ASHA CCCs highly recommended.
• IDFPR license in Speech Language Pathology.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and procedures for assessment and treatment of communication disorders.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to case manage speech-only students with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat communication disorders including articulation, phonology, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, feeding/swallowing.
• Write and implement IEPs.
• Collaborate with staff to achieve IEP goals.
• Use best practice therapy techniques to help students meet goals.
• Maintain data to show student progress toward goals.
• Educate teachers, staff, and parents about the role of the SLP.
• Follow district policies and procedures and applicable laws.
