Job summary

The School of Science and Technology in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver high-quality services and ensure compliance with special education regulations.

You will review and implement IEPs, collaborate with educators and parents, and monitor progress, adjusting goals and coordinating ARDs as needed. This role requires Texas licensure and ASHA CCC, with ARD responsibilities and TEA guidelines guiding daily practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• National Certification of Clinical Competence granted by ASHA (CCC).

Responsibilities

• Review IEPs and ensure 100% implementation of knowledge and provide top quality speech therapy services.
• Create IEPs aligned to instruction with collaboration of parents, general educators, special educators, and interventionists.
• Monitor students’ therapy and academic progress throughout the year and update goals and request additional testing as necessary.
• Ensure 100% compliance with ARDs by reviewing Special Education rosters for Annual ARDs and Re-Evaluations due dates weekly.
• Schedule Annual ARDs and Re-Evaluation ARDs prior to the due date to ensure 100% compliance.
• Facilitate ARDs and prepare ARD documents in accordance with students’ progress and submit them within timelines to the coordinator.
• Schedule ARDs with Diagnostician and other specialists to ensure 100% compliance.
• Participate in ARDs and update IEPs, Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance, and schedule of service.
• Ensure 100% compliance by completing Speech and Language Initials and Re-Evaluations prior to due date as per TEA timeframe.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge in assessment tools and determining eligibility for services.
• Develop appropriate speech IEPs aligned to instruction and schedule of service.
• Maintain Therapy Notes, Tracking Logs, ARD Logs, and Evaluation Logs daily and review with the Special Education Director weekly.
• Submit Therapy Logs on a Quarterly Basis to the Special Education Coordinator.
• Ensure and monitor progress to complete progress reports on a quarterly basis.
• Conduct formal assessments and plan ARDs with the Diagnostician and other specialists to report results within TEA timeframe.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
