Job summary

Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders across ages and varying acuity levels.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC or CFY eligibility, Florida licensure (provisional acceptable), and BLS certification. You will contribute to high-quality care in a collaborative, patient-centered team.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or CFY eligibility.
  • Current Florida SLP license (provisional acceptable).
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
  • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
  • Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from speech therapy.
  • Ensures accurate billing.
  • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or CFY eligibility
Florida SLP license (provisional acceptable)
BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification
