Hope Network is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist CFA in Morrice, MI.

The Speech/Language Pathologist - CFA is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: provision of speech and language pathology services to child and adolescent consumers of Hope Network Center for Autism. This includes evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of these services, individual, family, and staff education, communication with physicians and schools and discharge planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meets all requirements of Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC) to perform diagnostic services as defined by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network.
  2. Provides diagnostic services using selected standardized and informal assessment procedures to determine the nature, severity, and prognosis for rehabilitation of language, communication, and oral-motor disorders based on the developmental age of the child/adolescent. Recommends and implements treatment procedures based on these findings.
  3. Provides speech and language therapy services as indicated based on the developmental age/needs of the individual served.
  4. Provides leadership and consultation to the Center for Autism staff for skill development.
  5. Provides oral-motor and feeding diagnostic services and treatment for children/adolescents/young adults.
  6. Assesses and coordinates for augmentative/assistive communication technology.
  7. Provides developmental speech, language and functional communication skill development.
  8. Maintains complete and accurate clinical and billing records reflecting clinical services rendered.
  9. Keeps supervisor informed of clinical issues, problems, and professional activities.
  10. Assists to keep team abreast of research findings and new techniques in the field of child/adolescent speech/language pathology and cognitive rehabilitation.
  11. Participates in quality assurance, program evaluation, and curriculum rating scale activities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  1. Minimum Education required: Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  2. Holds ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech/language pathology or equivalent, or is a CFY candidate for ASHA's CCC in speech.
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate in verbal and written formats to meet position expectations.
  4. Valid driver's license required according to Hope Network policy.
  5. Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  6. Knowledge of common child/adolescent language, speech, and communication disorders and treatment.
  7. Knowledge of oral motor/feeding disorders and treatment protocols for children/adolescents.
  8. Two to five years' experience with emphasis on children and adolescents.
  9. Prior clinical experience with individuals with developmental disability or diagnosis of Autism Disorder.
