Job Responsibilities
This is not an exhaustive list of duties. The employee must follow additional instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
- Meet all requirements of Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC) for diagnostic services as defined by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network.
- Provide diagnostic services using standardized and informal assessment procedures to determine the nature, severity, and prognosis of language, communication, and oral-motor disorders based on developmental age. Recommend and implement treatment procedures based on these findings.
- Provide speech and language therapy services based on developmental needs.
- Lead and consult with the Center for Autism staff for skill development.
- Provide oral-motor and feeding diagnostic services and treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults.
- Assess and coordinate augmentative/assistive communication technology.
- Maintain accurate clinical and billing records.
- Keep supervisor informed of clinical issues and activities.
- Stay updated on research and new techniques in speech/language pathology and cognitive rehabilitation.
- Participate in quality assurance and program evaluation activities.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or equivalent, or a CFY candidate for ASHA's CCC in speech.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license as per Hope Network policy.
- Two to five years of experience with children and adolescents.
- Clinical experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
