Program and Role Summary
Wayfinder’s Special Education Schooloffers children and youth, ages 5 to 22, who are visually impaired or have moderate-to-severe disabilities a safe, positive environment for learning and growth. In the least restrictive environment in our state-certified, non-public school, teachers develop students’ communication, mobility and functional skills to increase their independence.
The primary focus on the Virtual Speech Language Pathologist, is to provide virtual speech therapy services to children from 5 to 21 years of age. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a critical member of the school team, responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for students with communication disorders. The SLP designs and implements evidence-based therapy plans to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication difficulties. This includes creating and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), delivering direct therapy, and consulting with teachers and families to support students’ communication needs in the classroom and beyond.
This is a part-time position, budgeted for 20 hours/week.The Speech Language Pathologist is fully remote and can work anywhere in the United States. However, valid California state licensure and certifications are required.
