Job summary

Napa Valley Care Center is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our skilled rehabilitation team in Napa, CA. We provide post-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, and therapy services to improve residents' communication, cognition, swallowing, and quality of life.

Full-time, part-time, or PRN opportunities are available with pay starting at $70+/hour (DOE). We offer a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, tuition reimbursement, flexible scheduling, and ongoing

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Current license maintained in good standing.
  • Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents referred for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders within established timeframes.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and obtain physician approval as required.
  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in accordance with physician orders and clinical standards.
  • Assess and treat communication, cognition, voice, language, speech, and dysphagia disorders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, residents, and families to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in care plan meetings, patient care conferences, and interdisciplinary team discussions.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, families, and staff regarding treatment goals and therapeutic techniques.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in electronic medical record systems.
  • Assist with discharge planning and caregiver training.
  • Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and Clinical Fellows in accordance with state regulations, when applicable.
  • Support ongoing staff education through in-service training and mentorship.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required


  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Active and unrestricted California Speech-Language Pathologist License

  • Current license maintained in good standing

  • Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team


Preferred


  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or Geriatric Therapy

  • Experience treating dysphagia, cognitive deficits, speech, language, and swallowing disorders

  • Familiarity with PointClickCare, Casamba, or other electronic medical record systems

  • Clinical Fellowship Candidates (CFY) encouraged to apply where applicable
