Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a Per Diem/PRN role in the Inpatient Rehabilitation department. This position offers day shifts with flexible hours across 2 days a week and requires hospital experience, CCC-SLP or CF eligibility, and active state licensure.

The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders, collaborate with educators and families, and maintain detailed progress records

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Active license to practice in Kansas or anticipated state of employment.
• CCC-SLP certification or CF eligibility with supervision arrangements.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital experience.
• Current BLS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapy to improve articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Maintain detailed records of evaluation, treatment, and progress.
• Educate clients and family members about communication strategies.
• Stay updated on clinical research and advances in speech-language pathology.

Location: Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth, KS

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializes in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with individuals of all ages to improve communication skills and enhance quality of life by developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work closely with other healthcare professionals and educate patients and family members about communication strategies to improve speech in the patient's daily life.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
• Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
• Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
