Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time, school-based role in Joliet, IL for the 2026-2027 school year.

You will administer evaluations, develop therapy plans, provide services, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and families to support student outcomes. Must hold an Illinois PEL with a School SLP endorsement and a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. Starting August 2026, 1.0 FTE, M-F.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL with a School SLP endorsement.
• Valid Illinois SLP license with ID where applicable.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from PSC-approved program.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• School-based experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language evaluations and therapy services to assigned students.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and IEP goals.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student communication and learning.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to service recommendations.
• Maintain compliant and confidential student records per regulations.
• Support a range of student communication needs across school settings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support student success.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School SLP endorsement
• Valid Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation SLP license
• Master’s Degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in Speech Language Therapy
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• School-based experience preferred, not required
