Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders. The role involves planning and implementing treatments and contributing to ongoing program development within the hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds a master's in speech-language pathology, an active Illinois SLP license, and the CCC-SLP certification or eligible CF supervision. Per diem status with day shifts is available.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois licensure in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• CCC-SLP certification or SLP-CF eligibility with supervision considered on case-by-case basis.
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience.
• Current BLS for healthcare providers certification at hire and maintained.

Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.

2. Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.

3. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.

4. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.

5. Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $43.52. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
