Job summary

Garden City Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our award-winning team dedicated to quality, compassion and community. You will evaluate, plan, and deliver therapy for patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting.

The role offers part-time, day-shift hours and opportunities to collaborate with physicians, residents and other clinicians while maintaining ASHA and state licensure requirements and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
• Active state license to practice speech-language pathology as applicable.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA, or SLP-CF considered on a case-by-case basis with supervision.

• Evaluate, plan, and implement treatment for patients with disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing.
• Assist in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the department.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
• Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
• Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
