Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer operations and proficient with MS Office products, or equivalent products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt.
• Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.

Responsibilities

• Provides students with an appropriate, personalized learning experience that contributes to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the IEP.
• Provides Case Management for students who have a Primary identification of Speech and Language Impairment.
• Evaluates student's educationally related needs toward identifying and creating goals and accommodations or interventions that may also be included in the student's IEP.
• Develops, revises, implements and maintains IEPs and all other Special Education documents in accordance with Collegium's expectations, procedures and policies.
• Shares a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of CCS.
• Remains up to date on evidence-based best practices and implements those practices in the provision of Speech and Language therapy services
• Demonstrates effective planning and organization for instruction.
• Uses creative instructional methods and procedures and adapts effectively to unusual situations.
• Motivates students to achieve at their highest level of ability and potential through activities, assignments, relationships, participation, and feedback; holds high expectations and demonstrates sensitivity to different learning styles.

Summary

The Speech & Language Therapist assists in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
